Coonawarra SA Established in 1972 the Wynns Coonawarra Estate Harold Vineyard is a dry grown nine-hectare block set in the heart of some of the best Terra Rossa soils in the Coonawarra. The Johnson's block is a dry grown vineyard in the heart of the terra rossa with vines dating back to 1925!The Johnson's block produced an exceptional crop in 2003 and it was decided to release the first bottling of this unique single vineyard wine.This is the type of wine that Coonawarra lovers live for; wonderful fruit clarity the spice of French oak and an elegant tight palate with incredible persistence on the finish. The wine is aged for 18 months in French Oak and American oak and cellared prior to release giving the flavours an opportunity to combine and develop. The palate is rich and powerful with exceptional varietal and regional characteristics such as fresh herbs olives cherry and blackcurrant. This wine has the balance and structure to reward up to 15 years of careful cellaring.
